Bob Myers, who represents Roy, said on Tuesday that the negotiations have taken a decided turn for the better this week. "We've had very productive discussions recently and are optimistic we will reach a deal soon," Myers said. Aldridge is also hopeful of securing a long-term deal, but it is unclear where his negotiations stand. Arn Tellem, Aldridge's agent, has not returned multiple phone messages over the summer.
