A look back at Kevin Pritchard's tenure with the Trail Blazers Aug. 24, 2004: The Blazers hire Pritchard, 37, as director of player personnel. Pritchard, who had been working as a scout for the San Antonio Spurs, replaces Mark Warkentien, who took a position with Cleveland. Feb. 2, 2005: The Blazers fire head coach Maurice Cheeks and make Pritchard interim coach for the final 27 games. Pritchard gives playing time to seldom-used young Blazers such as Sebastian Telfair and Travis Outlaw, and the team goes 5-22 under him. June 28, 2006: The Blazers, working without a permanent general manager after John Nash's contract was not renewed the previous month, make a record six draft-day trades that land Brandon Roy and LaMarcus Aldridge. The deals are orchestrated by team president Steve Patterson, serving as interim general manager, and Pritchard, who is credited with much of the negotiating. Oct. 9, 2006: Pritchard is promoted to assistant general manager as the Blazers end a long search for a permanent replacement for Nash. Patterson adds general manager to his title. March 29, 2007: Pritchard is promoted to general manager. May 29, 2007: Pritchard and the Blazers hire Tom Penn as assistant general manager. Penn, considered an expert on the salary cap, had worked for Memphis in the same job. June 28, 2007: The Blazers, under Pritchard, select Greg Oden with the No. 1 pick of the draft. May 18, 2009: Penn is promoted to vice president of basketball operations after his name had been linked to the vacant Minnesota general manager position. July 3, 2009: Hedo Turkoglu, a free-agent forward, rejects the Blazers. The team flew Turkoglu to Portland and offered a five-year, $50 million deal, but Turkoglu instead signed with Toronto. July 24, 2009: The Blazers sign free agent point guard Andre Miller. Miller goes on to have a strong season and scores 52 points in a game, the second-highest total in Blazers history. Aug. 6, 2009: The Blazers sign guard Brandon Roy to a five-year maximum contract worth $82 million. Oct. 21, 2009: The Blazers sign forward LaMarcus Aldridge to a five-year extension worth $65 million. March 16, 2010: In a move that surprises many, the Blazers fire Penn, considered Pritchard's right-hand man. The firing kicks off months of speculation about the job security of Pritchard, who is under contract until 2011. June 15, 2010: In a chat with reporters after a draft workout, Pritchard confirms a media report that the Blazers are interviewing candidates to replace him, but vows to keep fighting, saying, "May the best man win." June 18, 2010: Two of Pritchard's scouts, Chad Buchanan and Michael Born, are given two-year extension. June 24, 2010: On the day of the NBA draft for which he had been preparing for months, Pritchard is fired by owner Paul Allen. http://blog.oregonlive.com/behindblazersbeat/2010/06/timeline_of_kevin_pritchards_t.html I WILL MISS YOU -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 74.115.6.58
