Knicks, Afflalo agree to two-year, $16 million deal

The New York Knicks and free-agent guard Arron Afflalo have agreed to a
two-year, $16 million deal, a league source told CBSSports.com Thursday.
The second year is a player option, giving Afflalo the chance to hit the
unrestricted market again in 2016, when the salary cap and player salaries
will escalate considerably.
Afflalo, 29, had a sub-par season in 2014-15, averaging 13.3 points on 42
percent shooting for Denver and Portland.
Despite having $26 million in cap room, the Knicks have been quiet in free
agency. They were one of the teams to meet with free-agent center Greg Monroe
on Wednesday and have a meeting scheduled with All-Star LaMarcus Aldridge on
Thursday.
