來源:官網 0-1: Last-gasp penalty sends Gladbach to the Telecom Cup final [20.07.] Borussia Dortmund have missed out on the Telecom Cup final for the first time. In their third appearance in this pre-season tournament, the 2013 winners slipped to 1-0 defeat against hosts Borussia Mönchengladbach in front of a capacity crowd and will now face either Bayern Munich or Hamburg SV in the match for third place on Sunday (kick-off 1645 CET). BVB were without Mkhitaryan (ankle) as well as Kuba and Aubameyang (stomach bug), and so an entire attacking midfield line, with Hofmann, Gündogan and Reus taking their places in BVB′s 4-2-3-1 formation. Bender (started in the holding role along Sahin) and Kehl (started on the bench) recovered from injury and were available for selection again, three weeks before the start of the Bundesliga. BVB took charge of the game (played 30 minutes each way) from the off and created three early chances against the home side. A long ball from Sahin sent Hofmann through one on one with Ter Stegen but he could not get the ball past the Gladbach keeper (8 mins.). After a precise pass from Gündogan, Reus broke into the area from the left five minutes later but his shot was cleared off the line by a Gladbach defender, with Ter Stegen already beaten. The third chance fell again to Hofmann, and again he was denied by the Gladbach goalkeeper, following good work from Gündogan. Durm and Kehl came on for Gündogan and Bender after the interval, and the second half also saw a change of formation, with Reus playing in a supporting role behind Lewandowski and Grosskreutz moving to the right wing. The 54,000 fans had to wait until the 49th minute to see another scoring opportunity when Sahin tested Ter Stegen with a 20-yard effort. It took 54 minutes for the hosts to create their first chance when Kruse put Raffael through, but Weidenfeller was on hand to deny him (54 mins.), while at the other end Ter Stegen turned a Reus effort onto the crossbar (58 mins.). With seconds to play and a penalty shoot-out looming, Weidenfeller lost the ball carelessly to Raffael, and looking for contact made, the Gladbach striker went down and referee Winkmann gave a penalty which was dispatched by Daems.
