Almost 4,000 fans showed up to watch their idols at work, and all of them got a personalised autograph. More than an hour after the end of training, Jurgen Klopp and Mats Hummels were still accommodating the requests of their fans. Almost 3,000 fans packed the training ground’s terraces for a chance to watch the players training. It was the Bundesliga runners-up’s first public training session at their home ground after the summer break, and the fans behaved superbly. Even if only 3,000 of them found place on the training ground’s small standing terraces and more than 500 temporarily had to be denied entry, all requests were fulfilled. As there was a coming and going, even the 500 "onlookers", of whom some watched the training from a mound of earth, were permitted to enter the area - and they also got their autographs.
