BVB extend contract of Jonas Hofmann
Borussia Dortmund have secured another player of their current squad on a
long-term agreement, reinforcing their claim to build the team up in a
sustainable way. On Friday, attacking midfielder Jonas Hofmann, 21, signed an
extension to his contract which will keep him with this year's Champions
League finalists until 30 June 2018.

"Jonas has made great strides forward in the last couple of months, but he
has not achieved the end of his development just yet. We are pleased to work
with him long-term and accompany him on what hopefully will be the best part
of his career," said Borussia Dortmund's sporting director Michael Zorc.

Hofmann, who joined BVB from TSG 1899 Hoffenheim two years ago, made a quick
impression at the Black ’n’ Yellows. After winning promotion to t third
division with BVB's under-23 side, his goals and assists helped the club's
reserve team to avoid relegation a year later when he also made his first
three Bundesliga appearances and travelled with the first team squad to their
training camps. Hofmann scored his debut Bundesliga goal in the 2-1 win over
Braunschweig and set up another two this season already. The 21-year-old is
also a regular call-up to Germany's Under-21 team.
