Vietnam Coal Cup to kick off on October 2
The Vietnam Coal international women’s football tournament, sponsored by
Vietnam Sports newspaper, will kick off in Quang Ninh on October 2,
reported the Sports Daily. The newspaper said that four teams, including
Vietnam, Cua Ong Coal, India and Taiwan, would compete on a round robin basis.
The tournament will be an opportunity for the Vietnamese team to prepare for
the forthcoming 23rd SEA Games as they will compete with strong opponents,
India and Taiwan. India will have 16 players who competed in the Asian
qualifying round while Taiwan have six players who played during the Asian
qualifying round.
The champion of the tournament will be awarded VND 50 million, runners-up will
be given with VND 30 million. The third-placed team will be awarded VND 20
million.
Also, the organisers will award VND 10 million to the Fair-play prize winners,
VND 3 million to Player of the Tournament, top scorer, best goalkeeper, and
Miss of the Tournament.
