前丹麥男單選手喬納森(Kenneth Jonassen) 於2008北京奧運退役之後曾經擔任丹麥隊教練一段時間但是今年七月他已和英格蘭隊簽約已經上任四個月了... (難怪好幾場歐洲比賽我都看到他坐在英格蘭那邊我還以為只是臨時的) 以下為訪問原文: The former world class player Kenneth Jonassen started his new job as Singles coach at Badminton England this July. The former European Champion (2008) from Denmark speaks to Badminton Europe about his work and life in his new country in "3 questions to ..." Q1: Kenneth, are you satisfied with your players performances in this season? A: Yes, I am very satisfied. Of course in the beginning of the season my impact was not so big. I was coaching at the US Open for the first time and I could see Rajiv Ouseph winning the title. I was really impressed by his level. He showed great badminton during the tournament. And he also did well at the World Championships in Paris, where he beat Jan Ø Jørgensen. Furthermore Rajiv’s Silver Medal and the Bronze Medal of Elisabeth Cann at the Commonwealth Games were really good results for us. I can say that I'm really satisfied and happy with the work here in England. Q2: What was the first thing you have changed in the English training system? A: Well, I don’t believe it would be good idea to come to a different country and change things without knowing the players and the system first. And I don ’t like to copy things. I could, for example copy the Danish training, but this is not my way. We have to adopt things step by step. One thing I can mention is that I changed the intensity in the daily training sessions. The focus is now more on the quality. This has already changed. Q3: Where are the biggest differences between Denmark and England in your daily life? A: In England I have much more time with the players and more court sessions. In Denmark I had to run a club as well. But here I am 100% employed and I can manage their daily programme schedule as well. In private matters, I am not into a real living yet. There were a lot of troubles in the past as my kids are going to school now. And I still have some things left in Denmark, like selling the house, which have to be settled first. So I don’t have a rhythm yet. But now there will be three weeks in a row, where I can stay with my family without going to international tournaments. I am really looking forward to that.
