We've seen the hitting-the-ball-twice-on-one-swing thing happen multiple
times this season. But during Tuesday's Brewers-Padres game, Jose Rondon took
things a step further.
On a 1-1 pitch from Zach Davies, the Padres prospect nubbed a weak grounder
in front of the plate, and then, maybe by accident or maybe because he wasn't
satisfied with his first swing -- Rondon hit the ball again on his way to
first base:
Unfortunately, hitters are not allowed to hit balls outside of the batter's
box and Rondon was called out for interference. It was a good thought, though.
Next time just make sure to do it inside the batter's box. Like so:
