The calendar turns to September. The temperature has begun to dip. Teams are i
n the home stretch of a long and winding season. Two of those teams, the Padre
s and Rockies, played against each other on Friday night. And in order to keep
their minds fresh during San Diego's 14-1 win-- and to keep warm in the comin
g autumn --Gerardo Parra decided to try to start a fire using two pieces of a
broken bat:
