The group made an official request for an expansion team for Salt Lake City in January but later ceded to t he NHL's desire to relocate the Coyotes from Arizona. The team will play in the Delta Center, currently the Jazz's home arena. However , the NHL wants renovations to make the facility more hockey-friendly — especia lly if the club ends up playing there permanently. 只不過做法比較特別，土狼老闆Alex Meruelo是將球隊以12億美金出售給猶他爵士老闆爵士老闆之前就在運作要搞一隻擴編NHL隊伍現在直接有現成的給他買XD 之後將和爵士共用Delta Center A new arena was part of SEG's expansion team proposal, and it would also be used for a likely Winter Olympics in 2034. 也有計畫蓋新的場館 This is not expected to be the end of the NHL in Arizona. With dwindling attendance, unpaid bills and taxes leading to a failure to reach a long-term lease with the team, Glendale terminated the Coyotes' lease, citing a desire to book different events (especially concerts) at Gila River. 土狼隊之前被政府趕出Gila River Arena From there, the Coyotes were left scrambling to find a new home in Arizona. Plan s to build a new area and surrounding complex in Tempe fell through when propos als were voted down. That left the team to play in Mallett Arena on the Arizona State campus. The 5,000-seat facility is suitable for college hockey but well below the capaci ty expected for an NHL team, despite renovations made to accommodate professiona l players.
