The Philadelphia Phillies third baseman has sued his parents for allegedly defra
uding him out of millions of dollars while managing his finances, the Philadelph
ia Inquirer reported on Thursday.

In the lawsuit, which was filed Wednesday in the Philadelphia Court of Common Pl
eas, Bohm alleges that his parents, Daniel and Lisa, used multiple limited liabi
lity companies to transfer money from the former All-Star’s personal accounts,
which they “converted to their own use.”

The lawsuit is seeking a judgment of at least $3 million, with Bohm saying the s
ituation dates back to 2019, when his parents established two LLCs to hold any m
oney he earned from playing baseball.

He alleges that his parents told him they needed to take a 10 percent interest i
n the LLCs in order to be authorized representatives, but he would ultimately ge
t back any funds they contained.

Then, according to the lawsuit, the money in those accounts was used for “tradi
tional investment purposes,” such as stock trading as a means of passive income

Nevertheless, Bohm’s parents then allegedly transferred an undetermined amount

rokerage account attached to Bohm in March, as part of an ongoing legal action a
lleging Bohm’s parents mismanaged his finances.

The injunction filing alleges Bohm’s parents intended to use the $528,618 to pa
y for their legal expenses. It details new allegations of financial impropriety
against the parents of the Philadelphia Phillies third baseman, whose initial la
wsuit against them seeks $3 million in judgment.

Amid the legal dispute, Bohm has fired his agent, Scott Boras. Bohm, who has str
uggled to begin an important season before reaching free agency, has hired Nick
Chanock, who previously represented Bohm. Chanock is an agent with The Team (for
merly Wasserman).

Bohm, in a signed affidavit submitted to the court last week, alleged that his p
arents steered him toward hiring Boras in 2020 under “considerable duress” to
“further their own interests, to my detriment.” That decision, Bohm contended,

recommended to him by Wasserman’s agents.
