By Day 2 of this year’s draft, the players viewed as most likely to have MLB futures will have already heard their names called. Unlike the other major U.S. sports, in which players become draft-eligible by expressing their intention to enter the draft, baseball players don’t declare f or the MLB draft. So, while they will be seniors next season, they won’t be tr ue “senior signs” with no negotiating leverage.
