Turns out Wells strained his ribs on his left side Monday in Oakland and has been in some discomfort ever since. "I feel it when I swing and a a little when I run," Wells said. Asked if he considered sitting down to let the ribs fully heal, Wells replied, "No, I hate sitting around. I think I can still help this team no matter what. If it gets worse then obviously I don't need to be doing something where I could be out for a couple of weeks, but I know where my pain threshold is." Manager John Gibbons was predicting big things for Wells this weekend, bad ribs or not. "I think he's going to take off now that he's home," Gibbons said of Wells, who was raised in Arlington. "You just know certain guys are going to get their hits.
