09/02/2007 2:20 PM ET Notes: Accardo battling fatigue Split-finger fastball losing bite as calendar turns to September By Jordan Bastian / MLB.com TORONTO -- The Blue Jays aren't going to complain, considering Jeremy Accardo has remained effective as their closer. It's just that his most devastating pitch has recently lost some of its bite, making Accardo a little more susceptible to damage. On Sunday, Kennedy added that he's also been told he might have an opportunity to make a spot start later this month.
