Ganso was taken into hospital this Thursday in a wheelchair after injuring himself playing for Santos against Gremio at the weekend. There the player and club's worst fears were confirmed as the 20-year-old discovered he had suffered a footballer's nightmare injury. "The midfielder Ganso will undergo surgery this Saturday (August 28), in order to reconstruct the anterior cruciate ligament of his left knee," confirmed the club's official twitter page, while so far there has been no comment from the player. Friends and family of the talented youngster crowded round in support, as the player faces the most crucial six months of his short career so far. "I was in a meeting in Sao Paulo (to discuss Ganso's prospective new contract) when I found out. I spoke with him over the phone and now I am going to Santos to find him. We will leave everything in God's hands now. We are not thinking about the Selecao or any other thing, only in how he is going to be," the player's father Julio Lima revealed to Globoesporte, while teammate Neymar left his own tribute to his close friend on twitter.
