Braves optioned outfielder Jordan Schafer to Triple-A Gwinnett.
The move was overdue. Schafer made a grand entrance to the big leagues with
two homers in his first three games, but has struggled mightily since. He
heads to the minors hitting just .207 with 63 strikeouts, fourth-most in the
major leagues. Gregor Blanco has been recalled from Triple-A to take his spot
on the active roster and should get the majority of at-bats in center field.
