San Diego – The Braves recalled left-hander Mike Dunn from Class-AAA Gwinnett as expected Thursday and placed lefty Jo-Jo Reyes on the 15-day disabled list. Reyes hyperextended his right knee making a throw while backing up home plate in Monday’s 17-2 loss at San Diego. He’ll have an MRI exam Friday in Atlanta to determine the severity of the injury, which Reyes hopes is nothing more than cartilage damage. The injury occurred on the second at-bat of his 3-1/3-inning relief stint, but Reyes didn’t tell anyone that he was hurt and ended up allowing 10 hits and nine runs in the worst performance of his checkered career. The injury is to Reyes’ right knee – the same knee that required reconstructive surgery for a torn anterior cruciate ligament several years ago. Dunn allowed no runs in 3-1/3 innings over two relief appearances at Gwinnett, with six strikeouts and one walk. During six spring-training appearances, Dunn had a 1.42 ERA and .190 opponents ’ average, allowing four hits with four strikeouts.
