Based on the voting update 42 hours into the 98-hour Final Vote, Freese has a slim lead over Nationals right fielder Bryce Harper, D-backs second baseman Aaron Hill and Braves center fielder Michael Bourn. All four of those remaining candidates -- most notably 19-year-old Harper -- had expressed humble deference to Jones, who is in the last year of a 19-year career. What this means is that all gloves are off, campaign as you wish, and may the best man win when the Final Vote ballot closes at 4 p.m. ET on Thursday. The results will be announced shortly after on MLB.com. .................................略 Michael Bourn, CF, Braves: There is no longer a possible issue of splitting the vote for Braves fans, but the question is whether they can build enough steam for Bourn now that Jones is off the ballot.
