[消息] Brewers release RHP Gagne
MILWAUKEE (TICKER) —The Milwaukee Brewers cut ties with relief pitcher Eric
Gagne on Sunday, releasing the righthander from his minor league contract.
The former Cy Young Award winner signed the deal on February 17 but has
experienced arm trouble this spring. Gagne will undergo conservative rehab
along with a cortisone shot to repair a damaged rotator cuff.
The 33-year-old holds the major league record for consecutive saves, converting
84 straight chances from August 2002 to July 2004 while with the Los Angeles
Dodgers. But injuries have slowed down Gagne, who lost the closer's job in
Milwaukee early last season after blowing 5-of-14 save opportunities.
