Key Dates in 2004-2005 Season
October 13:
The Bucks kick off their 2004 preseason with
a game against the Minnesota Timberwolves in Grand
Forks, ND. They beat the Wolves by a final of 89-84 with a
team-high 26 points from Desmond Mason.
October 28:
Milwaukee goes 4-4 in the preseason after
concluding their eight-game slate with a 99-92 loss against
Memphis in Green Bay, WI. Michael Redd paces the Bucks
with 22 points.
November 6:
The Bucks score their first win of the season
with a 102-88 home victory against Cleveland. It’s the first
of three straight wins for the Bucks.
November 14:
Mo Williams passes out 10 assists, giving
him 10+ assists in three of his first five games. He also logs
a career-high 46 minutes in Milwaukee’s double-overtime
loss in Miami.
December 7:
Scoring 11 points in the final 6 minutes of the
ball game, including his team’s last nine, Michael Redd
helps lead the Bucks to a dramatic 89-86 victory on the
road against Indiana. The team wins despite 32 points
from Reggie Miller. It’s their first road win of the year.
December 8:
Zaza Pachulia grabs a career-high 13
rebounds against Miami.
December 29:
Earning his first career start, Zaza Pachulia
helps lead the Bucks to a 111-105 victory in Orlando by
scoring nine points and grabbing 11 boards.
January 5:
Michael Redd passes out a career high eight
assists in a 97-74 win over New Jersey.
January 7:
Milwaukee battles back from a 13-point deficit
to take down the host Toronto Raptors 107-105 (OT),
extending their road-winning streak in Toronto to eight
straight games.
January 21:
Mike James comes off the bench to score 20
points and beat his former team as the Bucks take down
the defending World Champion Detroit Pistons (89-86 final)
for the second time during the 04-05 season.
February 1:
Desmond Mason misses his first game of the
season (flu) in a Bucks 91-86 win over Minnesota, his first
miss as a Buck due to injury/illness (152 straight).
February 8:
The Bucks rout the Celtics by a final of 121-97,
including a 78-point effort in the first half. It was the most
a Bucks team has put up in one half since March 24, 1987
against New York. The 78 points is tied for the 10th highest
output by a Bucks team in one half. Milwaukee’s 121
points was their highest single-game total of the season.
February 9:
The Bucks score 110 points to earn their ninth
straight win in Toronto.
February 12-16:
Redd misses three games with a sprained
left index finger, snapping a streak of 212 straight games
played in a Bucks uniform.
February 16:
A 108-90 loss in New York gives Milwaukee a
20-30 record at the All-Star break.
February 22:
Mo Williams passes out a career-high 14
assists and the Bucks total a season-high 37 assists
against the Charlotte Bobcats. The Bucks go on to win by a
final of 112-102 on 55.7 field goal shooting, also a seasonhigh.
In his first game back from injury, Redd matches his
season high with 39 points.
February 24:
Just hours before the trading deadline,
Milwaukee acquires Reece Gaines and two second round
draft picks (2006, 2007) from Houston in exchange for
Mike James and Zendon Hamilton ... In another trade, the
Bucks acquire Calvin Booth, Alan Henderson and an undisclosed
amount of cash from Dallas in exchange for Keith
Van Horn.
February 27:
Seattle is held to 10 points in the first quarter
and 34 points in the first half as they fall to the Bucks by a
final of 99-73. The win gives Milwaukee a record of 8-4 in
the month of February, their only winning month of the season.
March 1:
Michael Redd scores 30+ points for the third time
in five games after putting up 35 in a home game against
Philadelphia.
March 5:
With his first bucket of the game (at home against
Chicago), Michael Redd surpasses the 5,000 point mark for
his career. The Bucks go on to beat the Bulls 95-87, their
14th straight home win versus Chicago.
March 6:
Milwaukee is officially eliminated from play-off
contention after losing in Boston 103-97.
March 23:
Michael Redd passes Jack Sikma for 16th on
Milwaukee’s all-time scoring list.
April 8:
Milwaukee defeats Charlotte by a score of 93-75 to
sweep the season series (4-0) against the NBA’s newest
franchise.
April 11:
Desmond Mason sinks a free throw to log his
5,000th career point in a game against Washington.
April 13:
Michael Redd scores 28 points to lead the Bucks
in their 111-108 loss to against Boston. It’s the 50th time
Redd has led Milwaukee in scoring during the 04-05 season.
The only other player in team history to lead
Milwaukee in scoring 50 or more times in one year was
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar who did it on six occasions (from
1969-75). Redd also nails his 500th career three-pointer
in the loss.
April 18:
Dan Gadzuric gives Milwaukee their first 20/20
performance since Ervin Johnson did it on January 12,
1998. Gadzuric scores 21 points and grabs a career-high
20 boards in the team’s loss in Philadelphia.
April 19: Milwaukee finishes the season with a record of
30-52.
