Kyriakos Papadopoulos★Top of the Match 7.0 Made a great step towards becoming a permanent fixture in Schalke's defence tonight. His positioning was superb, but it was his impeccable tackling that stole the show tonight. Atsuto Uchida81 5.5 He was run ragged by Coentrao and company on more than one occasion and contributed precious little in attacking sense, too. Substituted right after receiving a yellow card. Ivan Rakitic Flop of the Match 5.0 Missed on the chance to put Schalke in front in the first half and wasted every single set-piece he was allowed to take. A terrible performance from the Croatian. His flicks and dribbles were a key factor in Schalke's win, played an important role in the second goal, and should have scored in the first half when he hit the left post. ‧ Substitutions Hans Sarpei 6.0 Definitely an improvement on Uchida and stable enough in his second half cameo. Jermaine Jones 7.0 Naturally a defensive midfielder, he offered more in attack in the 24 minutes he was on the the pitch than Rakitic did for 66 minutes.
