"Mueller's performances as of late have not been good," the Dutch tactician told reporters. "He will have to wait for his chance because others have played very well recently." In recent weeks Mueller has complained of a lack of mental freshness caused by accumulation of matches. The 21-year-old was recently omitted from Van Gaal's squad for the first time since his professional career began last autumn. This weekend Toni Kroos is expected to retain his starting role ahead of the World Cup Golden Boot winner. Additionally, Van Gaal ruled out centre-half Holger Badstuber, who has been struggling with pelvic inflammation.
