Chiefs win in Wang's debut
Former NY Yankee Chien-Ming Wang turned in a solid rehab start and the
Syracuse Chiefs outlasted the Buffalo Bisons to win a 4-3 12-inning affair
Tuesday night.
Wang gave up a solo homerun to the second batter he faced in
the first inning but lasted five and two-thirds innings before leaving on a
pitch count.
Wang allowed three runs and struck out four batters in his fifth rehab start
for the Washington Nationals. He's expected to make at least one more start
for Syracuse before returning to the major leagues for the first time since
July 4, 2009.
Recent demotee Brian Bixler won the game for the Chiefs with a walk-off
sacrifice fly in the 12th inning.
