That was the attitude and the chemistry surrounding that group of guys. Four years later, going into these Olympics is it a different feel? 四年前為榮復隊(恢復美國隊的光榮)，當時團體的態度和化學反應，四年後奧運代表隊有著什麼不一樣的感覺？ Boeheim: I don't know. I think it's a little different. We know more about it. We know more about what has to be done. More aware of the competition. The more knowledge you have the better. It seems like the competition level's probably going to be a little higher than it was in Beijing. Certainly, higher than the World Championships two years ago. France is loaded. Ten NBA players. Manu Ginobili's back with Argentina. He makes a difference. And of course, Spain has (Pau) Gasol back and (Jose) Calderon's healthy, which he wasn't for the Olympics. So I think Derrick Rose's injury is probably one that we can overcome the easiest because we have so many guards. Not so many centers. But we have a nucleus of talent, using both teams, the (2010) World Championship team and the (2008) Olympic team, we have about 18 guys to choose from. There are a few guys from that team that aren't going to camp with this year's team. Tayshaun Prince. Michael Redd. There are other guys still in play. I think the majority of players will come from the 08 team. He's a difference-maker. He's a different kind of player. I don’t think we've seen his like come around in a long time. I think he's the best big guy we've seen in a long time. I think he’s way ahead of most college kids. I think he's a guy that could play at this level, especially at the defensive end which is where we really need help. I don’t think we'll have problems scoring. I think we'll be able to score all the points we’ll need to. But defensively, we could use a presence there. We'll see. He'll get a good look. We talked a little bit about it. He's looking forward to it. All these guys really want to play. They like the Olympic experience. Boeheim: With Mike going, it'll be a little bit more stress on recruiting. Gerry (McNamara) will go out and Adrian (Autry) will go out. We talk to all our recruits. In the past this hasn’t affected us. I've been able to recruit in July. This year is the first year when it's in that July period. I'll be able to do a little bit, but I think the players we’re recruiting know I’m coaching the Olympic team. They know it's a good thing. I think it helps us. I've been doing this for five years and we've had three of our best recruiting years. It’s obvious that it doesn’t hurt your recruiting. It's been good for us and it's been good for the program. Q: The Olympic team’s training camp is so short, how much analysis of the Olympic team’s roster happens before camp? Boeheim: We know these guys. We're set on a lot of guys. A lot of guys, it's obvious they’re going to be on this team. We’re looking at the last couple spots and we're looking obviously for big guys. But we're looking at a kid like James Harden, who has just burst onto the scene this year. He's an offensive player who is used to coming off the bench. Those are good guys to have sometimes. We're not sure as we go forward with the injury status of guys like Bosh and Dwyane Wade as they go into the playoffs, so we have to be prepared to adjust the final roster. We're just not going to know until we get there. This isn't a tryout. We're looking to see who's healthy and who's ready to go. If somebody's injured at that point in time, we're only a month away from playing. If they’re injured then, they're not going to be at full strength when we get to London. So, we're adjusting, but we have a good idea of who’s making the team. We've been talking about this all year.
