Carmelo Anthony says Michelle Obama is ‘a Melo fan,’ adds that relationship with Mike D’Antoni at London Olympics hasn’t been awkward 副標:Anthony is appearing in his third Olympics. He won gold in 2008 in China after finishing a disappointing third in 2004. 作者:By Frank Isola / NEW YORK DAILY NEWS (煩人的紐媒記者之一,特長:愛玩文字遊戲,近況:球迷看不下去要他別再LIN了) 日期:MONDAY, JULY 30, 2012, 12:44 PM 來源:http://ppt.cc/arZ3 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ LONDON — Carmelo Anthony cannot say whether Michelle Obama is a Knicks fans but he's certain of one thing: "She's a Melo fan," Anthony said on Monday. Anthony and his U.S. teammates embraced the First Lady following their win over France on Sunday. The players were unaware that Mrs. Obama was in attendance at Basketball Arena in Olympic Park. The President and his wife both attended an exhibition game in Washington between the U.S. and Brazil two weeks ago. Asked if Mrs. Obama said anything to him on Sunday, perhaps something along the lines of "you need to make more shots" or "stop fouling" Anthony laughed and said: "She told me to continue being happy and smile." Anthony was upbeat at Monday's practice at East London University despite having a rough afternoon against the French. He was limited to 16 minutes because of foul trouble and made just 3 of 10 shots. "I'm not worried about my shot," he said. "I don't worry about that." Anthony admitted that it's difficult to adjust to the officiating in the international game. On Sunday, he was whistled for three first half fouls despite coming on a substitute. "Every game has been officiated differently," he said. "That game was just crazy. I've never been part of a game like that." Anthony addressed a variety of subjects before practice began including his relationship with former head coach Mike D'Antoni as well as the question everyone is asking: does J.R. Smith ever sleep. Smith, Anthony's close friend and teammate, can be found at just about any hour of the day expressing his opinions and observations via Twitter. "I have no clue," Anthony said. "I do follow him but I'm not up at that hour. I get my sleep." Anthony and D'Antoni are back together following a rocky 14-month relationship that ended with D'Antoni abruptly resigning. Anthony's failure to buy into D'Antoni's system is said to be at the root of D'Antoni's decision to quit, a theory the former head coach hasn't exactly shot down. When they saw each other for the first time since the resignation it was in Las Vegas, appropriately enough, on an elevator. "I was getting on the elevator and he was already on the elevator," Anthony said. "We really didn't have much of a conversation at that point. But before the meeting started we talked. Times like that could be awkward moment but it was never an awkward moment. " As for their Olympic player-coach relationship, Anthony added: "He's been Mike. His system is what we run here. It works best for us. We've been running it for four or five years. He's in control of the offense. Nate (McMillan) controls the defense and (Jim) Boeheim is the zone guy…but Boeheim doesn't get any love because we're not running any zone." Anthony is appearing in his third Olympics. He won gold in 2008 in China after finishing a disappointing third in 2004. "One of the worst times of my life," said Anthony, who rarely played in Athens under then-national team coach Larry Brown. "Don't remind me of that." The U.S. has now won six games this month, including five friendlies, heading into Tuesday's game with prohibitive underdog Tunisia. But rather than mock his next opponent, Anthony got into the Olympic spirit by opting for diplomacy. "We don't want to go out there and overlook Tunisia," he said. Michelle Obama would be proud. -- = ̄ ̄╲ 美國今年拿牌!!
