卡佩羅和意大利國家隊主教練特拉帕多尼一樣，被人稱為“金牌教練”。他的執教風
格十分嚴厲，並不畏懼隊中的大牌。
卡佩羅1946年6月18日出生。
1964年代表Spal Ferrara首次在意甲聯賽亮相，三年之後加盟羅馬。
1970年，卡佩羅轉會至尤文圖斯。
1972年，卡佩羅首次代表意大利國家隊亮相，對手是比利時。
1976年卡佩羅加盟AC米蘭，同年最後一次代表國家隊對葡萄牙。
1980年卡佩羅結束球員生涯，他一共參加了332場意甲聯賽，攻入45球。
尤文圖斯是卡佩羅執教的第四支球隊，此前三支分別是AC米蘭、皇家馬德裡和羅馬。
有意思的是上述三支球隊，卡佩羅都曾經率領他們奪取過聯賽冠軍。
1985年卡佩羅成為AC米蘭青年隊教練、
1986年帶領AC米蘭踢了五場比賽，
1987年再度執教AC米蘭青年隊。
1991年，卡佩羅再次執教AC米蘭，他所取代的是著名教頭薩基，次年他就率隊以不敗
戰績奪得1991-92賽季意甲冠軍，在AC米蘭的七個賽季裡，卡佩羅一共獲得
過四次聯賽冠軍、一次冠軍杯冠軍、3次意大利超級杯冠軍，並創下聯賽58
場不敗的紀錄。
當時AC米蘭有著名的“荷蘭三劍客”、世界第一鐵腰巴雷西等世界一流球員
。
1996年，卡佩羅出任皇家馬德裡隊主教練，奪得1996-97賽季西甲冠軍，隨後由於和
俱樂部主席桑斯不和而辭職。
1997年，卡佩羅再次回到AC米蘭，不過同年他只取得聯賽第10名的成績，
1998年5月19日卡佩羅被AC米蘭解職。
1998-99賽季，卡佩羅休息一年，他擔任意大利電視台足球評論員。
1999年6月2日，卡佩羅出任羅馬主教練。
2001-02賽季，也就是卡佩羅執教羅馬的第二個賽季，他率領球隊奪取冠軍。
2003-04賽季(本賽季），卡佩羅率領羅馬奪取聯賽亞軍。
