Cavasin sacked by Treviso

Alberto Cavasin has been dismissed from his post as Treviso Coach,
it has emerged today.
The embattled Serie A boss failed to turn around the fortunes
of the Veneto club after taking over in November and with Treviso
firmly anchored 10 points from safety at the foot of the table,
Cavasin was given his marching orders last night.
Although President Ettore Setten issued a statement yesterday
complaining that refereeing decisions had been as much a cause
of his club's current plight as tactical decisions,
the 1-0 defeat to Parma on Sunday proved to be the last straw.
“Treviso Football Club can confirm that Alberto Cavasin
was dismissed from his position,” the club announced.
“Youth team Coach Diego Bortoluzzi will take over the running of
the side for the time being with current assistant Coach Albino Pillon.
“The club would like to thank Cavasin for the hard work
he has put in over the last months.”
Cavasin will be particularly disappointed at his inability to save
the northern Italian side he so desperately wanted to do well.
Upon taking charge in November the former Lecce and
Fiorentina tactician said: “This is my hometown club and
now it's down to myself and the players to prove that
we are worthy of Serie A.”
