Udinese have announced that their players and Coach will no longer
be speaking to the Press. “Everything is being misinterpreted,”
said sporting director Pietro Leonardi.
The Friulani are enduring a miserable run of form at present with
four consecutive defeats, including their Champions League exit at
the hands of Barcelona, constituting poor preparation for tomorrow's home
match against Sampdoria.
Coach Serse Cosmi has blamed injuries, the distraction of European football
and plain bad luck for their current League status of 11th in Serie A.
With the club constantly fending off allegations surrounding
Cosmi's future and the tactician airing his excuses on a daily basis,
it all seems to have become too much for the powers that be at
the Stadio Friuli.
“Recently everything that has been said has been misinterpreted,”
said Leonardi. “At the moment everyone needs to rediscover themselves
and the best way to do this is in peace and quiet.
“The Press embargo will continue throughout the Christmas period
with the aim of giving some peace to the side.”
