This week our trident will consist of Del Piero, Suazo and Mancini in
a 3-4-3 formation.
De Sanctis (Udinese): Kept a clean sheet to aid his team to attain three
points. Is a good keeper but the defense needs to
do their part.
Mihajlovic (Inter): A silent assassin. A wonderful free kick. The world’s
best at it. Also is a great defender as he can win the
ball and push up to create a counterattack. Mancini
should have utilized him more in Spain.
Nesta (Milan): Solid defending although he can be complacent sometimes as
happened with the first goal. He needs to be alert against
Barcelona. A nice goal too although I feel Maldini is better
at pushing the ball forward.
Zenoni (Udinese): Had a good game. Defended well to keep a clean sheet.
More displays like this are needed.
Kaka (Milan): A Hatrick. Fine display. Yum yum come get some Ronnie are
the probable thoughts on his mind. Has greatly improved his
finishing and he can penetrate the Barca defense and if he
does…. The key to success is for Milan to attack, convert
their chances and attain full ball control at the San Siro.
Simplicio (Parma): A fine game. Moved the ball well and caused misery to
the Reggina defense. Pellizoli was right to warn his
team. Perhaps they now see it as an omen.
Cambiasso (Inter): Played the ball well to keep it on the other half and
aided on his side to attain the win. Very good at
passing and is a coordinated player.
Vieria (Juventus): Nice run and lob to set up DP for the goal. It would
have been nice to see him play well in Europe. Well,
next year Juve. I am surprised that the player’s cars
were vandalized. Believe me, if they play like that
next year, there will be hell to pay.
Del Piero (Juventus): The Juve knight returned from injury and savaged his
team a point. Would have saved Juve from Arsenal?
I would bet no, but soccer is full of surprises.
Mancini (Roma): Is in fine form and has taken over from Totti quite well.
A fine goal to top up a good season for Roma.
Suazo (Cagliari): A fine individual run to score a fine goal. Is a good
striker. Too bad Honduras don't seem likely to make the
World Cup in his lifetime.
