Palermo link for Bresciano http://foxsports.news.com.au/story/0,8659,19623602-5004540,00.html MARCO Bresciano may become the first Australia player to cash in on the Socceroos' respectable World Cup performance. The 26-year-old midfielder is being linked with a move from cash-strapped Parma to Palermo in Italy's Serie A. Parma director general Gabriele Zamagna has confirmed he is negotiating with the Sicilian club over the sale of Bresciano. "Between us and the Rosanero club there is contact," Zamagna was reported as saying today. "But there's still nothing concrete. We will see in the next few days. "Palermo has a good squad, but it is still too soon to speak about potential players being inserted into the negotiations." Bresciano became Australia's most expensive footballer when he transferred from Empoli to Parma in 2002 and the former Melbourne player has been looking to progress in the tough Serie A where he has earned a reputation as a goalscoring midfield player. "There's nothing confirmed yet, there's talk, but we have to see what happens, weigh up my options and decide after," Bresciano said after Australia's last-kick 1-0 loss to Italy in the World Cup second round in Kaiserslautern. Bresciano scored eight goals in 32 appearances for Parma last season and said before the World Cup that he was keen on making a move to a better-performing Serie A club.
