Newly promoted Serie B outfit Genoa have named Gian Piero Gasperini
as their Coach for the 2006-07 campaign.

President Enrico Preziosi broke the news this evening
when he confirmed that the tactician has signed a two-year deal.

The former Crotone boss replaces Giovanni Vavassori,
who last season was sacked and then recalled before
leading the side from the Third Division.
