Francesco Totti's confidence is growing and he believes Italy
can push their way past Germany on Tuesday.
“We tried to make the game easy, but knew we were facing
a very organised side. We played very well, closing down the spaces and
were only fortunate once when Gianluca Zambrotta made a goalline clearance.
For the rest of it, I'd say we were in control,”
he said after the 3-0 quarter-final win over the Ukraine.
Totti談對烏克蘭戰：「我們嘗試讓比較更簡單，
不過我們知道自己面對的是組織良好的球隊，
我們打得很好，拼搶積極沒有給對手太多空間，
而且只有一次 Zambrotta幸運地在門線前清出一次烏克蘭的進球，
其他的，我認為我們把比賽控制的很好。」
Andriy Shevchenko's side only really seemed to cause problems
for a brief period after the restart, in which Gianluigi Buffon
was forced into some tough saves and a Gusin header hit the bar.
“Let's say we weren't quite as focused as we should've been
in those 10 minutes, but overall we dominated.
As I was being man-marked for most of the game,
I tried to pass the ball around and create space
for the midfielders to come forward.”

Totti's presence in the squad was the subject of controversy as
he took time to hit form after three months out with a fractured ankle.
“I am match fit now and happy with my performance,
although there's still room for improvement.
It's good to know I'm starting to do my trademark tricks,
as that means I'm back to my old self.
When I went to take the penalty against Australia,
I was already thinking about my celebration,
as I was so certain of scoring.”
「我現在恢復比賽狀態了，也為自己的表現感到滿意，雖然還有改善的空間，
很高興知道自己能先發又做出自己的招牌技巧，這表示我已經找回自己，

Totti ended his drought in the second round with a crunch penalty
and now Fiorentina's Luca Toni has also broken his duck with a brace.
“We were all waiting for Toni's goal, as he'd played very well
in this World Cup and was only missing a name on the scoresheet.
Now he's broken through, we expect many more important strikes from him.”
Totti談 Toni：「我們都在等著 Toni進球，
他在世界盃上表現非常好，就只缺了個進球好讓他榜上有名，
