Let Me Go Fiorentina-Toni Luca 03/08/2006 17:13 Toni made his first press-conference with Fiorentina since becoming World Cup champion in Germany last month, a press-conference set to make headlines. The highly coveted striker was honest in admitting he doesn't know if his future is with the heavily penalized Serie A club that bought him last year from Palermo for 15 million Euros, and would prefer to be sold to a European giant. "It has been the best year in my football career. I won the golden boot, a World Cup, and under the Italy jersey was Fiorentina's. I thank a great club and a great coach (Prandelli) for this," was Toni's opening statement. The tall player seemed to be saying what the Fiorentina fans wanted to hear, but then his true ambitions and feelings came out. "I want to win the Champions League and the Scudetto（冠軍）. Fiorentina had reached the Champions League through a great season, but it was taken away from us. I have only a few years left in my career. Now I would like to talk with Della Valle, I'm sure one can understand how I feel," he explained. "Inter will give me this chance. I have offers from Italy, but also Spain and England. If Della Valle wants me to stay I will, but I hope he can comprehend my state of mind, my motivations," he added. Fiorentina appear intentioned to let Toni go only for around 25 million Euros or more, and the high price-tag is hurting the former Palermo striker's chances of fulfilling his dreams. With Fiorentina forced to start next season with a 19 point handicap due to their involvement in the 'Calciopoli' scandal, Toni will have to probably wait at least another season before being able to play in Europe's prime club competition. The Scudetto is also an impossibility for this season given the huge point deduction the Viola have been handed. "It is clear that if I stayed I would have problems with the club. I repeat, I want the Scudetto and the Champions League, I hope they can understand this," he reiterated.
