Torino have finally confirmed that Walter Novellino
has been appointed as their Coach for the 2007-08 campaign.
Walter Novellino 就任主教練。
The tactician ended his five-year stay at Sampdoria last week
with a ninth place Serie A finish and had been heavily paired
with the Turin outfit after meeting chief Urbano Cairo.
“Torino are pleased to announce that a two-year contract has been
agreed with Walter Novellino,” read a note posted on the club's website.

“President Cairo wishes to welcome Novellino,
an experienced and competent Coach, who will start a journey
with the club leading to Torino's growth and development.”
The 54-year-old Novellino replaces Gianni De Biasi, who rescinded
his contract with Torino last Friday after securing top flight safety.
Novellino made his Serie A debut as a player with Torino in 1972
and started his coaching career with Perugia,
before joining Gualdo, Ravenna and Venezia, whom he led to Serie A.
He then led sleeping giants Napoli to the top flight,
repeating the feat the following season with Piacenza.
In 2002, he joined Sampdoria and masterminded their Serie A promotion
and in 2004-05 he guided the Blucerchiati to a UEFA Cup spot.
