The tactician had asked the Lega to bring forward the beginning of domestic competition to August 19 as the Azzurri will face crucial Euro 2008 qualifiers against France and Ukraine from September 8. However, the Lega Calcio refused the request, stating that at that date the transfer market was still wide open and therefore opting to kick off on August 26. “If Donadoni were to speak less I think it would be good for us all,” said Matarrese this afternoon in Milan, where the official new match ball for Italian competition was unveiled. Matarrese 說：「我認為 Donadoni 少說點話對大家都好。」 “He is a nice lad, but when he faces these issues I really don't recognise the self-controlled Donadoni I used to know,” added the official. 「他人還不錯，但是當他面對這些爭議時，我實在無法認可他是過去那個我所熟悉、有自制力的 Donadoni。」 “We start on August 26. He is a good Coach, the team is strong and we don't need any more talking. 「我們在八月二十六日開踢，他是個好教練，球隊很強，我們不需要多作討論。」 “Donadoni doesn't have to show his weak spots and mustn't worry, he has excellent players. I don't believe two or three matches can really change the final outcome.” 「Donadoni 不需要表現出他的弱點更不該擔心，他擁有出眾的球員，我不認為兩到三場的比賽就能真正改變最後的結果。」 Matarrese was eager to highlight that the decision to start on August 26 was not only due to economic reasons. “We are all close to the Nazionale and we do not want to mortify anyone.
