Giandomenico Mesto insists joining Udinese from Reggina
was the right move to make at this stage of his career.
The right-back, who can also play in midfield, has now been officially
snapped up by the Bianconeri and he's happy with the switch.
“This is a great step up for me in my footballing life,”
noted the former Under-21 international on Saturday afternoon.
Mesto 說：「這是我足球生涯裡了不起的一步。」
“Udinese, thanks to the results they have achieved over the past few years,
have netted the respect of everyone. I'm delighted with the transfer.”
「感謝 Udinese，他們過去幾年的戰果贏得了所有人的尊敬，
我對於這次的轉會感到非常高興。」
The Stadio Friuli side have signed the 25-year-old for a fee of ￡3.2m.
Paraguayan striker Jose Montiel has also joined Reggina on loan
as part of the deal.
Udinese 據估以３．２ｍ英鎊的轉會費簽下這名２５歲球員，
巴拉圭前鋒 Jose Montiel 租借 Reggina 也是其轉會條件之一。
Mesto, who was close to joining Milan last January, has won two caps
at full international level and nine for the Azzurrini.
Mesto 在一月幾乎轉會 Milan，在義大利國家隊有過兩次出場，Ｕ２１有九次。
It's also understood that Lazio, Liverpool and Spanish giants Valencia
were keen on the versatile player.
Lazio、Liverpool、Valencia 也都對他有過興趣。
“Udinese are an important club too, the rest was only talk,”
added the Italian. “My favoured position? I play on the flank
so a 4-3-3 would be ideal.”

Born in Bari, Mesto started his career at Reggina back
in the 1997-98 season when they were in Serie B.
生於巴里，Mesto 的職業生涯始於97/98賽季義乙 Reggina。
He's been at the club ever since apart from loan spells
at Cremonese and Fermana between 2000 and 2002.
