Roberto Donadoni does not regret the fact he won't have Francesco Totti
in his Italy side. “How can I miss someone who was never here?”

The Roma star had Donadoni on tenterhooks for a year after
the World Cup triumph, but last week finally confirmed he would not
be returning to international duty.
“Totti is a closed book now, there is nothing more to talk about,”
the Italy boss told the ‘Gazzetta dello Sport.’
他對《Gazzetta dello Sport》說：「Totti 的事已經結束了，沒什麼好談的。」
“After all, I can't even miss his presence seeing as
since I took over the Nazionale he has never been here.
So nothing changes as far as I am concerned.”
「畢竟打從我接手國家隊之後他就沒出現過，我甚至無從懷念起，
所以依我看，什麼也沒有改變。」
The 2007-08 campaign kicks off on August 25 and Donadoni gave his view
on the first post-Calciopoli Scudetto race.

“Inter are not unbeatable. Even if they are without doubt the favourites
for two reasons – their squad and the conviction that they are a great side.
「Inter 並非難以戰勝的，縱使他們無疑是最大熱門，有兩個原因，

“I believe that Milan, Roma and Juventus can challenge them.
The Bianconeri are in there too because they have extra motivation
to be back among the elite. They remind me of those sides who,
after a long time in Serie B, make an incredible impact on
the top flight in their first season.”
「我認為 Milan、Roma、Juventus 能夠挑戰他們，
JUVE 也算在內是因為他們對於重回菁英群有額外的動力，
他們讓我想起那些長期在義乙的球隊，總會在升甲首賽季做出不可思議的衝擊。」
One of the revelations of the last campaign and Italy's Euro 2008 qualifiers
has been Fabio Quagliarella, who has joined Udinese after a tug of war with
Sampdoria, but he was expected to be picked up by one of the giants.
“It is surprising and a cause for concern that no big clubs wanted him.
If someone is talented, he can prove it anywhere. He has real technique
and quality, but the tough part comes now. He has to stay humble and he
will go far. Otherwise, it'll get more complicated.”
談 Quagliarella：「沒有大球會想要他令人吃驚也引起關注，
一個球員有天份的話在哪裡都能證明自己，他擁有真正技術與水平，
不過艱難的部分現在才要來臨，他必須保持謙遜才能走得遠，否則就會變得複雜。」
The Under-21 squad has qualified for the Olympics
and many of those faces could break into the senior squad soon.

“I think the breakout stars of this season will come from
the Under-21 side,” added Donadoni.
「我認為本賽季會有突破的球星將來自Ｕ２１國家隊。」
“People like Giampaolo Pazzini, Riccardo Montolivo, Antonio Nocerino,
Domenico Criscito, Alessandro Rosina and Raffaele Palladino.
I am always in close contact with Pierluigi Casiraghi and Gianfranco Zola.”
「像是 Pazzini、Montolivo、Nocerino、Criscito、Rosina、Palladino，
我始終跟 Casiraghi 還有 Zola 保持密切聯絡。」
Another potential reinforcement for the Azzurri is Amauri,
who is Brazilian but has an Italian passport and could be eligible for Italy.
另一個義大利隊的潛在增援是 Amauri，
他是巴西人但是有義大利護照可以為義大利出賽。
“I like Amauri and am curious to see him in action again.
Francesco Guidolin said he was crucial for Palermo.”

Tactically the former Livorno boss is also considering
a change of pace for 2007-08.
“I am thinking of a three-man defence. I have the right men for
that system and used it when I was at Lecco.”

也曾在執教 Lecco 時使用過。」
