"Tony went out and said a couple of his players said the ball was acting funny,"
Leyland said, "and they made Kenny wash his hands. He came out in the second
inning and was pretty clean the rest of the way."
As La Russa vented to Marsh, Tigers first base coach Andy Van Slyke stopped
Rogers in the home dugout. Rogers then dissappeared into the tunnel and later
reappeared with the substance gone from his left hand.

"Tony and I have both been in the game 40-some years," Leyland said. "And from
time to time, hitters always talk about how the ball is acting funny. But
whether you do or don't make a big deal about it is, in most cases, not an
issue."
Rogers later said he received no inquiry from the umpiring crew about his thumb.
Supervisor of umpires Steve Palermo and Leyland offered a different account,
only adding to the whirl.

如果真的有用pine tar，那根據規則是應該處罰的，季後賽也有前例（1988 NLCS G3
LAD Jay Howell)，但沒有當場在投手丘上抓到，也沒辦法。（或許當時該等Rogers站上
投手丘後再上去要求檢查），但是在National TV上面被照的這麼清楚，Rogers恐怕很難
逃過許多問號。
不過Cards打不好左投的球，實在也不是秘密了，至少第2局之後，我們還是打不好。
（我認為Cards不是輸給pine tar，但是如果Rogers真的是cheater，即使他不需要cheat，
就可以打敗紅雀隊，還是應該被禁賽。）
不管如何，帶著1-1回到聖路易，並沒有那麼壞。這場雖然輸了，但投手群表現還是很好，
我們的兩張王牌也要接著出場了，讓聯盟去處理Rogers的事，我們應該專心往前看，
在聖路易的球場上打敗他們！
