Hawksworth, who will turn 24 next spring, was rated as the Cardinals'
best prospect before losing most of the 2004 and 2005 seasons due to injuries.
He made a strong comeback in 2006, going 11-4 with a 2.92 ERA in 27 starts
split between Class A Palm Beach and Double-A Springfield
Dove, 25, made a successful conversion to the bullpen this year and is
considered one of the up-and-coming arms in the organization.
Cate, 26, was also spectacular in his first year. A former sixth-round draft
pick of the Mariners, Cate made 44 appearances -- split between Palm Beach and
Springfield -- and amassed 78 strikeouts in 56 2/3 innings with a 1.27 ERA.
Haerther, 23, had a bit of a down year offensively in 2006, but remains one
of the more intriguing players in the higher levels of the organization. He had
a breakout 2005, batting a combined .307 with a .355 on-base percentage and
.538 slugging percentage at Palm Beach and Springfield. In his full year with
Springfield in '06, he hit batted .277.
