For one thing, the Cardinals lack a suitable ninth-inning replacement. For another, Isringhausen's service time gives him the right to veto any deal. Isringhausen, who turns 35 on Sept. 7, might require a team to exercise his $8 million option to waive his no-trade protection. Many clubs would balk, given Isringhausen's history of injuries. The Cardinals, at least, can wait until the end of the season to decide whether to bring him back. 個人評語: 如同上面的幾點理由, 我一直不覺得140會被交易出去甚至有很大可能像Carpenter 跟Mulder 一樣變相降價換個兩年約那麼我們就可以保有一位準名人堂的後援投手也不用煩惱最後一棒給誰接, 因為Wainwright 是先發可以拿十勝以上的投手還有按照140 每三年大修的定律, 再給他個兩年也很合理很好玩的是另一篇文章寫的是完全相反的東西 http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/7054260 它提到了市場本來幾個可能的後援投手都在傷兵名單反倒是140 還有個主動續約條款可以鞏固後防 The wild-card is St. Louis.
