F Antawn Jamison doesn't appear to be thrilled with coming off the bench.
"It is what it is," he said. "I don't know what the role is going to (entail). I don't know how many minutes I'll play. I'm up in the air,
just like you." If he is a bit miffed, he's such a class act,
it's unlikely that he would speak out in the media.
Cavs coach Byron Scott said when he spoke to Jamison, he didn't have to sell
it. "He's a veteran guy who's been in this league for a long time," he said.
"He's had a lot of success as a starter and as the sixth man in Dallas.
Antawn just wants to win. It doesn't matter what role that may be."
Jamison, who will be the Cavs' sixth man, has not been able to make shots with any regularity in the preseason. He shot just 21 percent from the
field (8-of-38) in five preseason games. In the season opener against the
Celtics, he had four points and four rebounds and made two of six shots.
However, to his credit, both baskets were key. Cavs coach Byron Scott said
he's not a bit worried about Jamison's shooting. "A lot of things went into
that, obviously, (including) the nagging injuries," he said. "I'm not worried
about that at all. I was more worried about the nagging (knee) injuries."
