其實與環球報的內容差不多,所以摘幾句自己喜歡的並且講講自己的
想法:
he was also bitterly disappointed at the way the Celts punched out -
showing more willingness to fight with the officials than with the
Pacers.
球員在場上容易為裁判的事情而分心,好像是我們常常發生的問題。
我覺得 Ainge 應該成立裁判遊說團, 好讓教練與裁判在場上覺得自
己受到不公平的待遇時,只需要幽幽地跟裁判說:「嘿!昨天那捲錄
影帶你沒有看得很熟唷....」
想到一些更過分的:
「嘿!你們老闆交代的話你沒聽清楚唷!」
「嘿!昨天那個十八號的正妹唷....」
好了不鬧了。總之,想著裁判的事情而無法專心比賽,只顯示出我們
不夠硬也不夠強,球隊也還太年輕。好好磨練吧。

There are a lot of guys that we're very, very satisfied with,
and there are some we're not as satisfied with.
The question becomes, is there somebody that's better as a
talent? Is there somebody that's better from a chemistry
standpoint? Is there someone that can enhance Paul's play,
that can make him a better player?
I think it's unlikely there won't be some tweaking of our
roster.
有些令人很高興,有些令人失望,暑假出清那些令人失望的人,進行
陣容調整,是可以預見的行動。可喜的是,七戰下來讓我們對於自己
有更清晰的理解,這次 Ainge 的失望名單,大概不會有太多爭議吧。
第二段摘錄,總覺得好像就只是少掉一個主詞 Walker 而已....

關於 Walker
We'll begin with the same questions we ask with every player.
What else is available? How much can he help us? How does he
fit in with what we're doing? Does he fit in with what Doc's
plan is? Is he a complement to Paul? How much will he be
looking for and how many years? What are the alternatives
that may already be here?
Obviously Antoine has those same questions. How much can he
get somewhere else? What are the opportunities for his career?
與環球報一樣的一段摘述。Ainge 的訊息很清晰了,核心是 PP, 建
隊的風格會圍繞著 Doc(與 Ainge)的計畫走,球隊薪資管理也是一
個重要的面向。 所以,Walker 的合約不會有什麼情感的因素,他自
己也得好好審視一下自己的狀況與需求。很明顯地,如果他想要簽較
大較長的合約,並且去那些下一季要拼季後賽的球隊,那麼他還是需
要透過我們做簽約後交易。
I think he fits here very well. I think Antoine has fit in
very nice. I certainly don't think our decision on Antoine
was affected by what happened in the playoffs. I heard people
saying that if we don't get out of the first round that Antoine's
gone. That's ludicrous. There's way too many variables and
factors.'
我們都知道 Walker 適應我們,也有意願留下來,我們也不會說因為
第一輪的挫敗而把 Walker 給怎麼了。只是,那裡存在著太多變項與
因素,哪裡呢?嘿嘿,我看是夏天的球員市場。

關於 Payton
He sure has been an asset, and we're going to have to think
long and hard within our budget and within our coaching staff.
Are our younger guards ready? Gary's helped them, but we have
to make that decision, and it'll impact on what happens with
Gary.
Payton 還沒與 Ainge 談,我想 Payton 也會在夏天裡慢慢想,想一
陣子。以他的個性,是沒有可能去當年輕人的替補,每場上去打個十
幾分鐘的,而我們則有發展年輕人的計畫,等待著菜鳥們成熟。所以
即使下一季 Payton 與我們相處愉快,那接下來呢?這點與 Walker
面臨的處境是同樣的。 當然,Walker 的價碼比較高,我們對他的更
好替代品的需求大概也比較高 :P 所以暑假對他必然會有一些動作。
只是關於 Payton, 上場就寧可全力以赴求表現,不然就不要打,這
樣的老將,就算他說 OK 下一季我會回來繼續帶年經人,我們也該從
較長遠的角度去思考他的出路。
回頭說起來,這其實是誠信與心意的問題。因為我們就算只需要他一
年,而簽他兩年,那麼第二年他不想打的時候可以退休,或者我們也
可以為他找一個比較好的地方。所以合約裡頭可以有各式各樣的選擇
權與買斷條款,像這樣的問題是可以相互溝通的,只要我們不會莫名
其妙地把他丟到北大荒就好了。

關於 Doc
I think we're in a great position with Doc. I've got a coach
that works tireless hours and just wants to get better. He
just wants to be a better coach. He knows he's not the best
coach in the league. He knows that there's mistakes that he
makes. He's very willing to accept accountability to me.
He accepts input from coaches. He watches hours of game films.
I just sense his intelligence and his work ethic and his
openness to learn from others and his competitiveness are
going to drive him to become a great, great basketball coach.
Doc 再一次挑戰第一輪失敗(苦笑),我想以他現階段的能力,是不
可能帶波士頓在季後賽走多遠的。然而,除了我一直強調的,他是現
階段帶新秀同時整合老幹新枝的極佳過渡期教練人選之外,Ainge 也
點出了一個重要的面向:Doc 自己也在學習成長。他從來不掩飾自己
是個比較遜的教練,但他在學習態度上很開放很積極,也是個工作狂,
有很好的態度,所以說,儘管我們的教練既不是天才也不是老謀深算
的狐狸,至少他可以成為前田利家般的人物。
我們在發展一個球隊的同時,我們其實也是在發展一個教練。

關於 Blount
I am not one of those guys that believes that Mark signed his
contract and then tanked it. I don't believe that for a second.
I believe that Mark Blount is a good NBA player, one of the
best-shooting big guys in the league. He's a very good team
defender. But Mark is going to have to accept a very specific
role on our team, and I think he's a valuable asset to any NBA
team. I really believe Mark has one of those bodies that can
play for another 10 years in this league. He's reliable; he's
durable.
不知道 Ainge 有沒有留意到,雖然這段話是在挺 Blount,說他值得
那張合約,但最後聽起來好像越來越像是在對其他球隊兜售這個耐久
財的文宣....。
Blount 的問題最後決定在客觀條件上, 其實我們沒有積極賣掉他的
需求, 就像 Ainge 說的,這個暑假我們沒有迫切的調整必要,所以,
機會是重要的,有什麼機會就怎麼做。 Blount 現在應該能夠感受到,
整個鋒線將會越來越擠,兩個菜鳥成長得不錯,未來的 Blount 會越
來越像是 Raef 的備胎。 的確,相對於 Raef,我們擁有 Blount 這
種耐久財是比較保險的。但身體健康不代表心態勇壯,這一季我才知
道 Blount 是屬於信心比較不夠會給自己壓力的球員,而以這點考量
我們未來擁擠的鋒線, Blount 可能會面臨到與 Croshere 一樣的命
運。
看看他的暑假計畫,或者我們也可以為他想一些辦法。那個交易條款
其實沒什麼大問題,真心要交易的話,你看 Odem 也還不是順利到湖
人去了。沒有交易的話,我只是希望這傢伙能練好籃板卡位....

I do think these seven games were more valuable for Marcus (Banks)
and Delonte (West) and Al than the 30 games they played before.
The intensity level, the preparation - they got to see all that.
I also think it was important for them to have veterans around
so we could win now. When you don't win, you don't develop.
嘿嘿,最後一句話根本就是從溜馬大家長華許那邊偷來的。
七場抵三十場,我也相信這點。

I'm talking more about dealing with adversity - in-game
adversity, the maturity issues. As a team we need to mature.
Youth brings a lot of that on, and not being around each other
very long and not having as much confidence in each other as
we need.
Ainge 越來越常將 dealing adversity 掛在口中, 這是一個我很喜
歡的見解:重點不是說你自己要多才多藝,又會投三分又會打低位什
麼的,重點在於,你能不能面對各式各樣的球員與狀況。能面對各種
狀況的球員與球隊,而不是說自己什麼位置都能打卻被某些對手與狀
況剋得死死的,能克服任何的挑戰,才是真正成熟的。
另外,彼此的信任也是很重要的。這一季之中,信任成為一個很重要
的課題。球員們正在培養默契,我們常常看到很多因為默契不足而產
生的攻守問題。有許多是隱形的,例如明明某人要到了位置,但另一
個人卻找不到他,或沒有信心把球交給他打,像這樣就會使比賽流於
單打獨鬥。
不只是球員彼此的信心,我們對於 Doc 的信心,對於 Ainge 的信心,
也都是在這個球季中漸漸復健起來的。我們走過的第一季,是克服信
心危機的一季。現在我們開始有一個願意彼此相信,願意加深彼此認
識與默契的團隊。
We've had issues with our chemistry, so when things weren't
going well during a game we didn't respond well to adversity
like foul trouble or officiating that isn't going our way or
the other team making seven straight shots. We have to be
better as a team and better with personal accountability.
是的,有了化學效應,夠成熟,這樣子我們才能夠面對各式各樣的狀
況,那種外在的 adversity。It's a team work. 關鍵不在於獲得一
個 adversity 的球員,不在於獲得一個能從一號打到五號的球員,
而在於一隻能夠從人家的一號解決到五號,順便解決掉那些王八蛋拿
哨子的六七八號,能克服掉這些難關的球隊。
We also need to learn to move the ball better. Not just move
the ball, but move our bodies. We need to get players more
committed to that. Doc did a great job of emphasizing it in
practice, but we still reverted to habits of taking turns -
Paul's turn to carry us for the next five minutes, Antoine's
turn to carry us, Ricky's turn to carry us. That's the biggest
thing we'll have to overcome.
要改掉壞習慣是很困難的。傳球呀,跑位呀,練習時做起來很簡單,
但上了場碰到這麼多的狀況,球員在落後時會選擇依賴主將(同時主
將依賴自己的才能),還是相信團隊?這種事情就是得在場上才能夠
見真章。壞習慣要改掉需要多久呢?呃,至少我們現在已經改掉百分
之五十了,因為我們有一批沒有太多壞習慣的菜鳥:
It's not Paul's fault, although he needs to do a better job
of sharing and moving. It's not Gary's or Antoine's fault -
it's collectively. Our young guys did a better job of it.
When they were out there, the ball moved more because they
didn't have the habits that revert when you're tired or under
pressure.
這些菜鳥現在大概是 Ainge 的口袋寶貝, 是不太有必要拿出去交易
的。想想,找回來的老將搞不好又會有他的壞習慣。今年才是第一年,
在相信自家養的蔬菜農藥殘留度比較小的前提下,慢慢栽培吧。
