“OK, I lied,” joked the Celtics coach. “Actually,
I didn’t. I had no intention of playing him, but Wally
ran into my office with his shoes in his hands 15 minutes
before the game and told me he wanted to play. And then he
stared at me during every freaking timeout. Finally I told
one of the coaches, ‘We’ve got to put him in, or he’s
going to drive me nuts.’ ”
