Here's the script: A deserving but down-on-its-luck franchise is given a complete overhaul, just before one of the characters ends up in tears. Except instead of Ty Pennington, there's Danny Ainge. How else do you explain Boston's 69-spot ascent in the Standings? After last year's tragedy of a season, Ainge traded for Ray Allen, then KG, in a span of 34 days and essentially saved the storied but dormant franchise, not to mention his job (Ownership shot up 50 spots). He also instantly catapulted the roster into top-10 status. Of course, Allen, KG and Paul Pierce (a.k.a. the "New Big Three") have done their part to make Ainge, and even Doc Rivers, look good: Boston set the NBA record for the biggest increase in wins from one season to the next.
