A club statement said: "We believe this is a very popular, and competitively priced, opportunity to be pictured with the official Premiership and Carling Cup trophies and is something that has been done several times before by Chelsea in the past, and is a widespread practice at other clubs. It is also totally in line with official Premier League policy as a proportion of the proceeds will go to the club's nominated charity, CLIC Sargent. 聲明稿中說:"我們相信這個票價很普通,且在切爾西也行之有年,也是各球會很普遍的慣例,在英超是允許將此一部份收入捐給指定的慈善機構-CLIC Sargent. "Today's media reports are totally over-exaggerated and inaccurate and do not reflect the views of the vast majority of fans. At no point has the club indicated that any of the first team squad would be present to have their picture taken, as they are all on holiday.
