Robben rejects the talk of friction and the image of frailty

"I just hope it's all over now. I feel very strong again and hope to continue
that way. It's just very difficult when you play, then stop again and don't
get a rhythm going. It's mental thing as well, and I think I'm mentally very
strong. You have to fight and work hard to come back and I've been working my
bollocks off."
Robben has been fortunate with his coaches, including PSV's Guus Hiddink and
now Mourinho, whose meticulous organisation and attention to detail impress
him. "It's difficult to compare managers and I've worked with quite a few good
ones. I've enjoyed it and I learn from him. But I think the most important
thing for a player is that you do it yourself and pick the things up that you
think you need.
"I don't know if we're friends with the manager. We're just a very good group
together, players and staff, the spirit and mentality and atmosphere are great
and that's a main reason why we got successful last year."
"I wouldn't say we'd won the title because it's not only Arsenal, it's also
Manchester and Liverpool. The gap with Arsenal is bigger, so the pressure is
more with them than us because if they lose, the gap will be enormous. It will
be difficult for them to come back if they lose. And even if they win."

ROBBEN WITH POINT TO PROVE
"I'm not afraid to go and get kicked, not even one or two per cent," he
declares. "The only thing now is I have to be aware of the danger coming.
"I might jump up one time but not if it is a dangerous situation and I might
create something. Then I just have to put my foot in.
"I've spoken with the Dutch manager Van Basten, because he ended his career
through injury to the ankle in a challenge.
"He said you have to develop something in your brain, be aware of the danger
quicker.
"But I think that's to do with experience. The more games I play the more
experience I will have. I always want to win, I'm not thinking about getting
injured or kicked."
"It's frustrating but you can't change it because if you are injured you are
injured," he said. "I work hard to come back as quickly as possible from injury
and I am mentally very strong. I don't think it's a mental thing at all."
"Last year I was very pleased with the number of goals I scored, how many
assists I had," he said. "I've got to try and get that into this season. I've
had a false start, I need to get it going again.
"I just want to play and enjoy my football, be part of the team every game and
be important for the team. I feel confident now but I know I do better."
Robben added: "We are top of the league and everybody is chasing us. We are in
a great position and that's why the pressure is not on us but on them."
