Spanish starlet set for Blues

Reports in Spain claim that Chelsea have struck a deal for Espanyol
starlet Sergio Tejera.
The young midfielder does not turn 16 until May, but Blues boss Jose
Mourinho have moved quickly to secure the services of the left-sided
prospect.
Tejera, a Spanish youth international, has been watched by the likes of
Arsenal, Manchester United, Milan, Barcelona and Real Madrid, but Chelsea
have stepped in early to head off their interest.
Espanyol were understandably keen to keep hold of Tejera, but the teenager
and his family have agreed to swap Barcelona for London with Chelsea
paying a compensatory fee of €130.000.
The Blues are following in the footsteps of Premiership rivals Arsenal and
Manchester United who have both raided La Liga for young talent in the
shape of Cesc Fabregas and Gerard Pique.

Blues trial Uruguayan hot-shot

Chelsea have handed a trial to Uruguayan striker Elias Ricardo Figueroa.
Jose Mourinho has been a long-term admirer of the Liverpool player having
been impressed by his performances in the South American Youth
Championships and the Under-17 World Cup.
Mourinho, who has requested videos of Figueroa's recent performances, will
now be able to take a closer look with the player poised to remain in West
London until March 18 before then returning to Montevideo.
Figueroa will undergo a medical examination while at Stamford Bridge and
will also get the opportunity to train with Chelsea's stars.
In the meantime, negotiations will continue between Liverpool and Chelsea
over a possible transfer.
