Gallas to study Blues offer

Gallas has been targeted by some of Europe's top clubs with the likes of
Arsenal, Milan and Juventus strongly linked with the Frenchman. Traore
accepts that the offer of a permanent place at centre back, his favoured
position, with a club in the UEFA Champions League may tempt the
28-year-old to consider a move away from Stamford Bridge.
"For the moment, I don't know what will happen at the end of the season,"
Traore told skysports.com. "A decision will be taken soon, as there is
only one year left on William's contract. My associate, Etienne Mendy,
and myself are waiting for an appointment with Chelsea. They are going to
propose a new contract to Gallas and we will study their offer.
"A player of such a level interests a lot of clubs, top clubs in Europe,"
he stated. "Some clubs have asked Chelsea for him but not us, for the
moment. We read the press to know who could be interested in William."
When asked if Gallas, who often plays full back for Jose Mourinho's league
leaders, would relish a central role elsewhere, Traore was conclusive.
"Of course, yes," he answered. "That would make him leave because he has
always wanted to play as a central defender. But he would only join a
top-class club that is ambitious and plays in the Champions League."
