雖然是場林志玲的比賽 但首度升上預備隊的 Fabio Ferreira 在右翼發揮出色 球隊的表現也很好 可惜就是缺乏進球 http://www.chelseafc.com/article.asp?hlid=377161 Portsmouth Reserves 0 Chelsea Reserves 0 Wednesday, Apr 05, 2006 A tight grip on the game that lasted the full 90 minutes failed to squeeze a single goal out of a stretched Portsmouth. But it was a good performance by Mick McGiven's improving young Chelsea side. The display away on Havant and Waterlooville's rutted pitch was full of the confidence that comes from an unbeaten record since January. Unfortunately it also came with the missing cutting edge that has been a recurring problem this season. Chelsea stroked the ball around well and were imaginative in movement. An early pin-point pass from the back from Michael Mancienne, nodded down by debutant Fabio Ferreira for a Jimmy Smith shot gave notice of Chelsea's intentions to use the pace on the wings. Scott Sinclair on the left would come into the game more in the second-half but in the opening 45 minutes especially, Fabio Ferreira performed admirably on the right of attack in his first start. Quick and broad, the Portuguese Under 17 international carried the ball well and gave former Liverpool and Rangers full-back Gregory Vignal a tough game. Three successive shots after a Smith surge had broken through the defence were blocked as Pompey fought to keep Chelsea at bay. Then on 25 minutes it took a good save by Ashdown to keep out a low-placed Younghusband shot; Pettigrew having won possession and Ferreira sending in the cross. Keeper Jamie Ashdown was the one other experienced player alongside Vignal for the home team. Ten minutes before the break Younghusband gave him a far easier task than his earlier save with a powder puff effort. Sinclair's pass through the middle had sent the centre-forward away. Just beyond the half-time break the ball was at last worked down the left through Sinclair, Anthony Grant's powerful strike blocked by the keeper. Ashdown was kept busy as Chelsea's domination continued, James Simmonds returning a cleared corner and forcing a sprawling dive on the hour. When Portsmouth for once escaped their shackles in the closing stages, the impressive Mancienne, a springboard for much of Chelsea's play forward, was on hand to twice divert shots from Donaghey. With seven minutes remaining Chelsea captain Adrian Pettigrew stretched and reached an Elmer corner ahead of Ashdown but flicked the ball over. His side had done almost everything but score.
